Abstract
Erken çocukluk, çocuğun doğumundan başlayıp onu ilkokula hazırlama sürecini ifade etmektedir. Hayata dair eğitimleri ailesinde almaya başlayan çocuk, okul öncesi eğitimi ile ilerdeki yaşamına yeni bir yön vermekte ve böylece ilkokula da hazırlanmaktadır. Çeşitli ülkelerde farklı şekillerde verilen bu eğitim çocuğun tüm yaşamını şekillendirmekte eğitimin ilk basamağını ve ilk gereksinimlerini karşılamaktadır. Eğitim basamakları arasında ilk sırada bulunan okul öncesi eğitimi yani erken çocukluk eğitimi ile çocuğun eğitimine farklı bir giriş yapılarak çocuğun tüm yönleriyle gelişebilmesine, okula ve hayata hazırlanmasına yardımcı olmaktadır. Ayrıca dünyadaki insanı yediden yetmişe her anlamda etkileyen kültürel, sosyal ve ekonomik alanlardaki hızlı değişler okul öncesi çocuk eğitimini dünyada ve ülkemizde önemi giderek artan ve vazgeçilmez bir unsur haline getirmiştir. Bu makalemizde bağzı ülkelerdeki erken çocukluk eğitim sistemi ve amaçları ile ülkemizdeki tarihsel gelişimi hakkında bilgilere yer verilmiştir.

Abstract
Early childhood refers to the process of preparing the child for primary school, starting from birth. The child, who begins to receive life-related education in his family, gives a new direction to his future life with pre-school education and thus prepares for primary school. This education, which is given in different ways in various countries, shapes the child's entire life and meets the first step of education and the first needs. With pre-school education, that is, early childhood education, which is the first among the education stages, a different introduction is made to the child's education, helping the child to develop in all aspects and prepare for school and life. In addition, rapid changes in cultural, social and economic fields, which affect people in every aspect of the world from seven to seventy, have made pre-school education an increasingly important and indispensable element in the world and in our country. This article includes information about the early childhood education system and its aims in some countries and its historical development in our country.
