Abstract
Bilim ve sanat arasındaki kesişimin en iyi açığa çıktığı alanlardan birisi olan sosyal hizmet, insan ve toplum için var olan gerçekliği akademik ve mesleki anlamda kapsamaktadır. Sosyal hizmetin sanatla kesiştiği en önemli noktalardan birisini ise sinema oluşturmaktadır. Zira sinema insanın ve toplumun birçok yönüyle temsil edilebildiği bir sanat dalıdır. Sinemanın bu özelliğiyle sosyal hizmet perspektifinden ele alınması, sosyal hizmet eğitimi açısından faydalı olabilir. Sosyal hizmet ve sinema arasındaki ilişkiyi gerontolojik sosyal hizmet ekseninden analiz etmeyi amaçlayan bu çalışmada, yaşlılık olgusunu ele alan filmlerin sosyal hizmet eğitiminde kaynak olarak kullanılmasının mümkün olup olmadığı tartışılmaktadır. Bu kapsamda “Farklı yaşlılık temsillerinin yer alması ve yaşlılığa dair ilgili konuların işlenmesi sinema filmlerini gerontolojik sosyal hizmet eğitimi için bir kaynağa dönüştürebilir mi ve filmler bir eğitim aracı olarak kullanılabilir mi?” sorularına cevap aranmaktadır. Bu amaçla sosyal hizmet eğitiminde sinema filmlerinin nasıl kullanılabileceği ve işlevselliği gerontolojik sosyal hizmet eğitimi üzerinden gösterilmiş ve örneklendirilmiştir.

Abstract
Social work, which is one of the fields where the intersection between science and art is best revealed, covers the reality that exists for people and society in academic and professional terms. Cinema is one of the most important points where social work intersects with art. Because cinema is a branch of art in which people and society can be represented in many ways. Considering the cinema from a social work perspective with this feature may be beneficial in terms of social work education. In this study, which aims to analyze the relationship between social work and cinema from the axis of gerontological social work, it is discussed whether it is possible to use films that deal with the phenomenon of old age as a resource in social work education. In this context, “Can the inclusion of different representations of aging and the processing of related issues related to aging turn movies into a source for gerontological social work education and can movies be used as an educational tool?” seeking answers to questions. For this purpose, how movies can be used in social work education and their functionality are shown and exemplified through gerontological social work education.
