Abstract
Bu araştırmada, öğretmenlerin “kitap” kavramına yönelik metaforik algılarını ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubu, Adana ilinde MEB’e ait okullarda çalışan 35 ilkokul ve ortaokul öğretmenlerinden oluşmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın deseni, nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan fenemenoloji desenidir. Verilerin analiz edilmesinde nitel araştırma yöntemlerinde kullanılan içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Katılımcılar “Kitap… gibidir, çünkü...” ifadesi aracılığıyla 23 farklı metafor üretmişlerdir. İlk beş sırada yer alan metaforlar arkadaş/dost, insan, hayat, hazine ve pınar/su metaforlarıdır. Öğretmenlerin ifade ettiği metaforlar 5 farklı kategori altında toplanmıştır. Bu kategoriler “kitapların yaşama kaynaklık eden bir güç, arkadaş, keşif arayışı/öğrenme, kitap bir yaşamdır, hayattır ve rehberlik” adlı kategorilere ayrılmıştır.

Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to reveal the metaphoric perceptions of teachers about the concept of “book. The study group consists of 35 primary and secondary school teachers working in schools belonging to the MEB in Adana. The design of this research is one of the qualitative research designs, phenemology. Content analysis, which is used in qualitative research methods, was used to analyze the data. Participants have developed a total of 23 metaphors via the expression “school is like..., because...”. The top five metaphors are friend, human, life, treasure and spring / water metaphors. The metaphors expressed by the teachers are grouped under 5 different categories. These categories are divided into the categories “a force that is the source of life, friends, exploration quest / learning, a book is a life, life and guidance ".
