Abstract

Abstract

Today, economic literacy has become one of the important issues that everyone needs in order to reach their difficult life goals. In order to achieve prosperity as a smart person, students with high economic literacy skills are expected to make the best decisions at the right time. With the increase in the importance of the concept of economic literacy, it has been observed that studies on the level of economic literacy of university students have increased. In this context, the study aims to show whether the socio-demographic variables of the students studying at Gaziantep University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, cause a significant difference on economic literacy. In order to measure the level of economic literacy, the data necessary for the study were collected by applying the survey method to 306 students. The findings obtained as a result of the study revealed that economic literacy showed a significant difference according to the gender, age and class variables of the students, but did not show a significant difference according to the monthly income of the students' department and their families.
