Abstract
Askeri bir terim olarak ortaya çıkan lojistik kavramı, gelişen dünyada yöneticiler tarafından önemi fark edilen bir kavram olarak hızlı bir şekilde gelişim göstermeye başlamıştır. Yirminci yüzyılın son çeyreğinde büyük bir hızla gelişen lojistik sektörü, iletişim ve mikro biyoloji ile birlikte yirmi birinci yüzyılda en çok gelişim göstermesi beklenen 3 sektörden birisi konumundadır (Başkol, 2010: 48). Lojistiğin günümüzdeki önemini göstermesi bakımından bu hususlar dikkate alınmalıdır. Lojistik sektöründen beklentiler hakkında getirilecek olan açıklamalarla birlikte çalışmada bu konuda faydalı bilgiler ortaya konulması amaçlanmaktadır. İnsan hayatı içerisinde lojistiğin varlığı tarih öncesi döneme kadar uzanmaktadır. Bugünkü anlamıyla lojistik kavramının kullanılmaya başlaması ise küreselleşme ile birlikte müşteri istek ve beklentilerini karşılamada lojistiğin belirleyici bir konuma gelmesiyle olmuştur. Sürekli ilerleme kaydeden teknoloji ile birlikte lojistik sektörü giderek daha dinamik bir hal almakta ve tüketici bilincinin şekillendirdiği bir sektör konumuna gelmektedir (Gülenç ve Karagöz, 2008: 73). Lojistik sektöründe yeniliklerin yakından takip edilmesinin gerekliliğinin çıkış noktası da burasıdır. Lojistik sektöründe yaşanan gelişmeler ve günümüzde lojistik sektörünün konumunu belirlemek için yapılacak olan araştırmada dinamik yapı ile yeniliklerin takip edilmesinin gerekliliği belirleyici bir konumdadır. Uygulama odaklı bir disiplin olarak lojistik, ağlar arasındaki akışı konu almaktadır. Ağlar arasındaki akışların açıklanması, analiz edilmesi, disiplinler arası bir şekilde ele alınması ve geliştirilmesi, lojistiğin bugünkü içeriğinin oluşumunda belirleyicidir. Lojistik faaliyetler ile birlikte hedeflenen ekonomik, ekolojik ve sosyal açıdan sağlıklı bir şekilde ilerleme kaydedilmesidir (Acar ve Gürol, 2013: 291). Bu amacın gerçekleştirilmesi için lojistik faaliyetlerin ne şekilde yürütülmesi gerektiği, çalışmadaki başlıca odak noktalarından birisidir. Lojistik sektöründe sergilenen performans, rekabet düzeyinin her geçen gün arttığı günümüz koşullarında oldukça önemli bir yere sahiptir (Werbinska Wojciechowska, 2013: 427). Lojistik faaliyetlerin pek çok faktörün etkisinde olması, karmaşık bir sistemin varlığını ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Lojistik sektörünün geniş bir kapsama sahip olması ve dinamik bir yapının oluşması, bu gelişmeler etrafında değerlendirilmek durumundadır. Abstract
The phenomenon of logistics, which was born as a military term, has evolved very quickly into a concept that business professional recognized for its significance in a changing world. The logistics industry, which developed very rapidly in the last quarter of the twentieth century, is one of the three sectors expected to show the greatest development in the twenty first century along with communications and microbiology (Başkol, 2010: 48). These factors should be taken into consideration in terms of addressing the significance of logistics today. The objective is to present useful information about this subject along with expectations from the logistics industry. The presence of logistics in human life dates to prehistoric times. However, the concept of logistics, in the sense that it is used today, has come into play with the advent of globalization and how logistics gained a determining position in meeting the demands and expectations of customers. With ever-developing technologies, the logistics industry also takes a more dynamic form, becoming a sector shaped by consumer awareness (Gülenç and Karagöz, 2008: 73). This is also the starting point for the necessity of following innovations in the logistics industry closely. Developments in the logistics industry as well as the need for following the innovations with a dynamic structure are determining factors in this study that aims to identify the current status of the logistics industry. As a discipline focused on application, logistics is all about the flow between networks. Explaining and analyzing the flows between networks and addressing and developing them with an interdisciplinary approach define how the contents of logistics today are established. The objective of logistics operations is to ensure healthy economic, ecological and social development (Acar and Gürol, 2013: 291). One of the key focus points in this study will be how logistics operations should be carried out to achieve this objective. Performance of the logistics industry plays an important role under the current conditions where competition continues to grow by the day (Werbinska Wojciechowska, 2013: 427). The fact that several factors have an impact on logistics operations points to the presence of a complex system. The broad scope of the logistics industry and the creation of a dynamic structure should be addressed with a view to these developments. Keywords: Logistics, Globalization, technology, Competition.
