ÇEVİRİ YETİLERİ KAPSAMINDA İŞ SAHASININ BEKLENTİLERİ VE BU BAĞLAMDA ÜNİVERSİTELERDE VERİLEN EĞİTİME GENEL BİR BAKIŞ

Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı sadece sonuçta ortaya çıkan ürün üzerinden değil aynı zamanda bu eylemin gerçekleşme sürecinde de oldukça özenli çalışmayı ve hep gelişmeyi gerektiren çeviri alanında çeviri yetilerini genel hatlarıyla ortaya koymak ve bu çerçeve içerisinde sahada çalışacak öğrencilerden beklenenleri kısaca ifade etmektir. Çeviri sektöründe son yıllarda önem kazanan yetkinlik ise teknoloji kullanımıdır. Bunun yanında iyi bir çevirmenden beklenen bir diğer yeterlilik düzeyi ise anadil ve yabancı dil hakimiyetidir. Anadilde yetkinlik çevirmenin kültürel sermayesiyle de yakından ilişkilidir. Üniversite eğitimi boyunca farklı disiplinlere ait metinlerle çalışılarak hem kaynak hem de erek dilde kelime bilgisi artırılırken dünya görüşleri de zenginleştirilmelidir. Çeviribilimi hep daha ileriye taşımayı hedefleyen üniversitelerin bu yetileri kazandırarak ve/veya geliştirerek alanına hakim öğrenciler yetiştirmek için izledikleri uygulamalar bazı yönleriyle tartışılmış ve sonuç kısmında ise bu uygulamalar doğrultusunda bazı önerilere yer verilmiştir.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to state the translation competencies in a general framework and to express the expectancies of the sector within this framework. Translation Studies Departments in Turkey try to train competent translators/interpretors by helping the students gain the mentioned competincies and/or improve the ones they have.In this article being good at using translation technologies was emphasized. In addition, using mother tongue efficiently and being competent in the language of the source text are accepted as common skills in translation. Being competent in the mother tongue is closely related with the cultural background of the translator. Students can be trained in such a way that helps them to be familiar with new words belonging to different disciplines. The more they get various input, the more they will gain world knowledge. Keeping this in mind, the course contents of Translation Studies Departments in Turkey are discussed. Some suggestions are mentioned in conclusion part.
